What Are PRP Injections?
We are proud to provide platelet-rich plasma therapy, also called PRP injections, in Mesa, AZ to help promote healing throughout needed areas of your body. PRP injections have become a popular regenerative treatment due to their natural method and promising results. PRP utilizes a patient's very own plasma to stimulate the body's natural healing properties. The growth factors and proteins in PRP encourage cellular repair and collagen production, which enhances the skin, tissues, bones, muscles, and joints. Whether you want to address hair loss, aging skin, sexual dysfunction, or soft-tissue injuries, PRP injections offer a nonsurgical and effective solution. For more information about PRP injections, contact Restore Health AZ to schedule a consultation.

Who is a Candidate for PRP Injections?
PRP injections are nonsurgical, highly versatile, and do not require synthetic medications or anesthesia, meaning almost anyone who is in good health and seeking a natural solution for relieving muscle pain, recovering from an injury, or boosting their health and wellness may qualify for treatment. Generally speaking, candidates for PRP injections should be in good health and be non-smokers. Some things that may cause a person to be ineligible for PRP treatments include having an active infection, a history of certain cancers or other conditions, and uncontrolled cardiac disease or angina. Prior to treatment, Dr. Morris will carefully review your health and medical history to determine whether PRP injections may be safe, appropriate, and effective for you.
How Do PRP Injections Work?
Once you are comfortably seated in one of our secluded minor procedure areas, a vial of blood will be extracted from one of your arms and placed in a centrifuge machine. Typically, we draw around four tablespoons of blood. After about 15 minutes, the different components of the blood will be separated so the PRP can be made ready for injection. We will load the condensed plasma into a syringe and inject it into the designated areas of the face or body, depending on your unique needs. The PRP injection process typically only takes approximately twenty minutes at Restore Health AZ, but that can vary on a patient-to-patient basis.

What Should I Expect after PRP Injections?
Plasma from PRP therapy naturally promotes collagen production and elastin to reveal younger and tighter appearing skin. Because it uses your own blood, there is no risk of allergic or adverse reactions. You should expect your face to be a bit red following the procedure as traces of red blood cells will be included in the plasma injection. A cold pack can be used on the treatment site to reduce discomfort and swelling. Dr. Morris recommends you receive treatments in 4 – 6 week intervals to maintain results.
