Is it for you

Who PRP Is For.

A good fitA tendon, ligament, muscle or joint problem that rest, pills or a cortisone shot didn’t settle, and you’d rather try your own biology before surgery.
Probably notAn active infection, certain cancers or uncontrolled heart disease usually rule PRP out, and it works less well in smokers. If that’s you, say so on the first call and we’ll save you a visit.
What decides itYour doctor goes over your history and examines the area, usually with ultrasound, before anything gets scheduled. If PRP isn’t the right tool for what’s going on, you’ll hear that.

Questions

PRP Injections: What People Ask.

All questions →
What can PRP injections help with?

Joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, muscle strains and arthritis are the most common reasons people come in. Your doctor will tell you at your visit whether PRP fits what's going on.

How many PRP treatments will I need?

Usually one to three, spaced four to six weeks apart. A mild tendon problem can turn around after one. Long-standing joint pain usually needs a series.

How soon will I notice a difference?

Some people notice a change within a few weeks. Others keep improving for several months.

Is there downtime?

Most people drive themselves home and get back to normal activity soon after. Your doctor will tell you what to hold off on.

Is PRP safe?

PRP is made from your own blood, so there are no synthetic drugs involved. The most common side effect is soreness at the injection site.

What affects the cost of PRP?

How many areas we treat, how many sessions your plan needs, and whether PRP is paired with another treatment. Your doctor goes over the price with you at your visit, before you commit to anything. Treatment is cash pay, and HSA and FSA cards work.

Let's look at it together.
