Cost & insurance
Do you take insurance?
Treatment at the clinic is cash pay, and HSA and FSA cards work. Labs and imaging done at an outside facility may be billed to your insurance, depending on the facility, your plan and your coverage. That doesn't apply to Medicare or Medicaid plans. Your plan is customized to you, and we go over it together before you commit.
How much does a visit cost?
It depends on what you need. Call or text 480-382-5946 and our team will walk you through current pricing, or book a first visit and your doctor will go over costs with you before you commit to anything.
How much do PRP, stem cell and other treatments cost?
Every plan is different, so treatment pricing comes after your first visit, once your doctor knows what you need. For questions before then, call or text us at 480-382-5946.
Is there a cost for the intro call?
No. The intro call is a no-cost conversation by phone or video. Talk through what's going on, ask your questions, and decide from there.
Visits & booking
Can I be seen by video?
Yes. Intro calls, new patient visits and most follow-ups can be virtual from anywhere in Arizona. State law requires at least one in-person visit a year, and injections happen in our Mesa office.
Who will I see?
It depends on what you need. Hormone and weight loss patients see Dr. Kalavesis, pain and injury patients see Dr. Morris or Dr. Muro, and hypnotherapy is with Rene. You can also take the first opening.
Pain & injections
Is this instead of surgery?
For many people, regenerative treatment is worth trying before surgery. If we think surgery is the better option for you, we'll tell you.
Does a PRP injection hurt?
Most people describe pressure and a short ache. We use ultrasound to place injections precisely.
PRP Injections
More on this treatment →What can PRP injections help with?
Joint pain, tendon and ligament injuries, muscle strains and arthritis are the most common reasons people come in. Your doctor will tell you at your visit whether PRP fits what's going on.
How many PRP treatments will I need?
Usually one to three, spaced four to six weeks apart. A mild tendon problem can turn around after one. Long-standing joint pain usually needs a series.
How soon will I notice a difference?
Some people notice a change within a few weeks. Others keep improving for several months.
Is there downtime?
Most people drive themselves home and get back to normal activity soon after. Your doctor will tell you what to hold off on.
Is PRP safe?
PRP is made from your own blood, so there are no synthetic drugs involved. The most common side effect is soreness at the injection site.
Stem Cell Treatments
More on this treatment →How soon will I notice improvement?
It varies with the injury and your body. Most people notice changes over weeks to months, not days.
What's the difference between stem cells and PRP?
PRP concentrates the platelets in your blood and is often the first choice for tendon injuries and mild to moderate joint problems. Stem cells are usually considered for bigger problems or injuries that haven't improved with other care.
Are stem cell injections safe?
The cells come from your own body. Mild soreness or swelling for a few days is the most common side effect.
How much does it cost?
Every plan is different, so we price it with you at your visit.
Does insurance cover it?
Usually not. Treatment at the clinic is cash pay, and HSA and FSA cards work.
VSEL Therapy
More on this treatment →Where do the stem cells come from?
From your own blood.
Is it repeated, and how often?
Some people repeat it about every three months. Your doctor will suggest what makes sense for you.
Are there side effects?
Because the cells come from your own blood, side effects are usually limited to a little bruising where the blood was drawn.
How is VSEL different from PRP?
PRP uses the platelets and growth factors in your blood. VSEL uses very small stem cells from your blood that are activated with a laser before they go back in.
Prolotherapy and Restorative Injections
More on this treatment →How long until I feel relief?
Usually a few weeks, with the full effect building over a few months.
Why choose this over steroid shots?
Steroid shots calm inflammation for a while, but repeated shots can weaken tissue. Restorative injections aim to strengthen it instead.
Can it be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It's often used alongside PRP or stem cell treatment.
Do I need time off work?
Most people don't. You may feel sore for a few days.
Is it safe?
The most common side effects are soreness and swelling at the injection site.
Hormones
Do you see men and women for hormone care?
Yes. We see both men and women, in our Mesa office or by video.
How do I know if it's my hormones?
Low energy, poor sleep, a lower sex drive, brain fog and weight that won't move can all have a hormone side. Labs and a visit with your doctor show whether hormones are part of the picture. You can also start with the hormone quiz.
IV & shots
What IVs and shots do you offer?
What we offer changes through the year. Call or text 480-382-5946 to ask about the IVs and shots we have right now and their pricing.
Acupuncture & supplements
Acupuncture
More on this treatment →Does acupuncture hurt?
The needles are hair-thin. Most people feel a small pinch or nothing at all.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on what we're treating. Your doctor will suggest a plan at your first visit.
How soon can I expect results?
It varies. Your doctor will tell you what to expect for your situation.
How should I prepare?
Eat lightly beforehand and wear loose, comfortable clothing.
Are there side effects?
Mild soreness, small bruises or feeling tired for a little while are the most common.
Supplements
More on this treatment →Can supplements interact with my medications?
Some can. That's why we go over your medications before recommending anything.
How long until I notice a difference?
It depends on the supplement and what we're addressing. Your doctor will tell you what to expect.
Are they safe?
They're professional-grade and picked for you after we review your history and medications.
Who shouldn't take them?
Pregnant or breastfeeding women and children need a different plan. Tell us at your visit.
Where do I order?
Through Fullscript or our Biotics Research store. The links are under Patient links.
Still have a question?
